Different sources are used. In addition to data from the Thuringian State Office for Statistics, there are also numerous data from municipal registers. We start with a short overview of the development of the population in Jena since the beginning of the year.

Since the beginning of the year 2021, 1,763 residents have registered their main residence in Jena, 1,905 have deregistered it. Jena has thus lost 142 residents. The current population is 107,972 inhabitants with their main residence.
