About us

Overview

In March 2018, the two areas of controlling and statistics were combined into one organizational unit with currently 8 employees. Our team supports the managers in their performance of their controlling and leadership function. As a central service provider of statistical data on Jena, we also ensure accessibility, reliability and data protection vis-à-vis internal and external customers, thus providing statistical information for objective decision-making.

We are constantly striving to develop our range of data and information on this portal. We are happy to receive your wishes and suggestions at statistik@jena.de.

Controlling

Among other things, the Controlling department provides business management services in the form of:

• Information supply and reporting
• Coordination of the controlling process or sub-processes
• Management consulting and provision of methodological competence
• target-performance comparisons, variance analyses, ad-hoc analyses

Statistics

Did you know that on 31.12.2020 exactly 108 306 inhabitants with main residence as well as 7 010 with secondary residence were registered in the population register of Jena and that the districts of Cospeda and Maua are of equal size with an area of 336 hectares? Our field of activity includes

• the preparation of population and household forecasts,
• the maintenance of the small-scale breakdown in the geographic information system,
• the preparation of quarterly statistical reports and
• participation in elections, referendums and censuses.
